If driving south on Route 2/4 from the Annapolis or the Washington, DC area, turn left onto Calvert Beach Rd (approx 8 miles south of Prince Frederick). There is a light and sign for St. Leonard town center. Go 1/4 mile to the circle (this is the town center of St. Leonard). Continue straight (180 degrees through the circle) and go about 2 miles to stop sign. Turn left onto Flag Harbor Road and go about 100 yards and then turn right into the Marina parking lot.

Flag Harbor is north of the Patuxent River on a quiet section of the Middle Bay on the Western Shore. It is located at latitude 38:27N and longitude 76:28W. It is approximately 1 mile west of green can 77A and 2 miles north of Calvert County Nuclear Power Plant.

The entrance to Flag Harbor is protected by stone jetties. Flag Harbor maintains a 7 foot MLW depth throughout its marina, however large storms may create a sandy ridge between the jetties. This section provides any warnings or advice about the channel entrance.

Flag Harbor Yacht Haven is about six nautical miles north of Cove Point Light. The marina lies between Calvert Beach and Long Beach, which is shown clearly on charts, particularly NOAA 12264.
It is 2.1 nautical miles north of the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, conspicuous for its several large, round, white towers. For boats cruising the large ship channel, look for the "CP" buoy about five miles north of Cove Point, or about four miles south of red N"2" off the mouth of the Little Choptank. Then turn west and go about four miles toward the power plant.
If you're running near the Western Shore, look for Green Can 77A (Approximate position 38 Degrees, 28.5 Minutes N; 76 Degrees, 27.22 Minutes W). From Green Can 77A, the entrance to Flag Harbor Haven Marina is approximately .8 miles at 245 degrees magnetic. Mariners should note that these instructions are approximations and they should use extreme caution when attempting to enter Flag Harbor Marina at night or under conditions of reduced visibility.
The best landmark is a 20-foot high white pylon erected on the beach just north of the entrance channel. Stone jetties extend seaward, the outer ends marked by small lighted red and green navigation lights mounted on 10 foot high steel pilings. A flashing white light is mounted at the end of the first pier.
